    Any idea if we will get something similar to a class like a "controller"?

    There was a class in City Of Heroes (which shut down last year, /tear) but basically, this job was able to hold monsters in place while granting various debuffs. anyone know if 2.0 will have anything similar like it? or maybe devs can get on this to see if something can be thought about to implement on an existing job

    For City of Heroes Controllers, the primary powerset is the main crowd control set. The primary sets also tend to have a pet which eventually gives controllers some noticeable offense.

    Earth Control - Considered by many to be best or second best (after ice) at pure control, this set focusses on holds and immobilizations.

    Fire Control - This is one of the more offense oriented control sets for Controllers. The Fire Imp pets deal excellent damage, and most of the various holds and disorients also tick fire DoT damage.

    Gravity Control - This very amusing set tosses foes around and picks them up as if they were rag dolls.

    Ice Control - This is considered best or second best (after earth) at pure control. Ice Slick is the set defining power. You drop the slick and laugh as your foes slip and fall repeatedly.

    Illusion Control - This is one of the more offensive oriented controller sets. It focusses on summoning a lot of "pets" who deal damage and hold the attention of foes.

    Mind Control - This set has some exotic types of control - sleeps, fears, confuses. These are very good in PvP.

    Plant Control - The newest controller set, plant control has numerous ways to impair and impede your opponents.

    DCUO also has this class but for FFXIV it would end up being a class/job like FFXI RDM was played, refresh, sleeps, debuffs, cure bitch. We already have blm with aoe sleep, whm with single target sleep, brd with a bind or 2 and a few other snares, stuns or silences/debuffs from other jobs. All the bases of a controller class is covered.

    I loved playing mental controller because I could pump out serious damage while CCing mobs, refreshing my group's power and looking totally badass!

    Sounds like something that could work for a Geomancer, at least the elemental aspects of it. I don't know how it plays in FF11 but it sounds very similar to how it was in FFT.

    geomancer from my experience ( i only partied with them for a short while, not really got into the whole adoulin thing like i wanted to ) didnt really have control forces but more aura like effects, but i like where you think with that, very much so
