    RMT

I'm sure everyone has seen them all over town, in cassiopea hollow, in trains of 15 characters on follow, etc... and yes, they have a drastic effect on the economy, and no matter how much they try to ban them, they just keep coming back.

Ok, here is a crazy idea. Instead of fighting RMT, we should join them, and make everyone able to sell gil or their character. Think of it when mp3 pirating was happening, with futile attempts to sue downloaders by music companies going bankrupt. Then itunes came out and now almost everybody is downloading it, paying for it, and apple making a ton of money.

If SE made like an official game item auction site, where everyone can put their gil, character, or rare item for sale, it would pretty much devalue these RMT people and allows people to play and make money in the process. That will motivate people to actually hop in the game and make items to sell in the wards to make money for real life. Think about all the people who are jobless now, but could really use that rent money, or want to buy a better pc. Maybe instead of paying with money to buy something, they can use crysta, and play for free that way. Just think how many subscribers SE will get. Crazy idea or the craziest idea?

    I laughed.

...And then I was worried for a second.

    ...And then I laughed again.

RMT does not even put a dent into this economy. It killed itself. I'm honestly surprised they're still even trying.

The RMT will ride the horse even if it's gasping for air. The best way to slow their operations is by not having a MMOs currency so hard pressed to obtain. A MMO shouldn't have you desperate/stressed for money. If so more people will be eager to just buy it so they can actually enjoy the game instead of running around gimp for weeks.

There's alof of "Multiboxers" around, this however dosent mean they're RMT.
I myself have several characters, and i would prolly be playing atleast 2 accounts if my other PC would actually run the game.

Now why would i do this? well im out of inventory space as much as anyone else, im sick of having a half empty ls.
Even thou i love my members & i dont want to force anyone go to speed-leveling just so we can do stuff together.
I want people to take their time to enjoy the game.

I'd multibox to get stuff done when i have little time on my hand, even if it means
controlling 2 characters at once from using 2 PC's / accounts.

I lmfao at the word RMT cuz they dissapeared a few months after release of FFXIV & i havent recieved
a single /t from anyone trying to sell me crap.

Just giving a heads up on this, not everyone using multiple accounts (multiboxers) are infact RMT's.

    - side note: after playing WoW for a few years...i well...learned to fear multiboxers in PvP battlegrounds,
It was both fun to have them there & extremly annoying, so i kinda understand your point.
However we do not have any PvP content yet.

Even so, me having 5 characters with 10 retainers could screw up the economy aswell, if i werent so lazy / busy with my main
im sure i could have sold alot more than im currently doing & besides i only play on 1 pc >.<

But have you witnessed them actually to trade real money for w/e they making?
    If so report it.
Those might not be RMT's at all but Bot's.
Bot's dont talk, they just craft, have a specific path to follow etc.
They usually easy to spot since they usually have timed crafting actions... id report the mofos.

Correction RMT bots. I'd report em but just like you, GMs want substantial proof like them sending me a tell if I want to buy gil. The fact of the matter is, they don't have to send you a tell, they have a website that would just come out when you google, and they sell gold for many mmorpg for all servers. If I want to buy gil, I would just go say mogs.com then pick ffxiv and pick cornelia server and I will see prices for how much gil I want and they will deliver to my character via direct trade. So all they have to do is keep making that money. It's a very booming industry right now. So why let them have all the glory when you can have that piece of the pie.

EVE did interesting thing. They a;llowed to sell gametime codes fo ingame currency. So if you feel to rich in Real Wolds HARD CASH(TM) you could spent in on gametime ( at which CCP gets richer) and sell it to fellow gamers ( who dont have real wolrd cash, thus wouldnt beable to play otherwise) for ingame currency. In effect, those who want quick ingame cash, get it, we have more people playing, and still all proceeds go to game maker. Theyre are still some bots and stuff, but they are beeing banned, and only idiots buy from RMT's, as CP is quite effective, and trace 90% of illegel RMT, in effect if you buy from ythrm you loose your real cash AND ingame cash. I am not sure it would work in FFXIV, but there allwazs will be people with rich parents, and thez allwazs will want to get best gear/most expensive stuff quick'n'painless breaking game for rest, and making RMT a good business. (On a sidenote, nothing gives you mre pleasure to pop a gold farmer in eve ^^)
