How come it always seems like there's always a group of people who come back right at the end of a deadline to say they missed the deadline after MONTHS of time?

The OP even said that they had not checked out the game info for months^^

@OP: there are a lot of english speaking players on Masamune as Flat-Out stated^^, so even if you're stuck there for the time being you may end up really liking it !

Well, the people who know about it early enough do what they need to do so they aren't vocal about it and the ones who don't find out until waaaayy after the fact can probably easily find the questions to their answers online since the event has passed. The people like me, however, screwed up and had to come ask because it hasn't happened yet and the information isn't easily found without sifting through links. So what you're hearing is the vocal minority

To be fair, the discussion of world transfers has been around for months, but the actual transfer period (imo) was relatively brief. While Okipuit's initial post about upcoming transfer information was made a while ago, from the content of his original post I imagined the option being open for months, even past launch, so that people who were out of the loop could still come back and make a choice.

We wanted to briefly discuss the current plans for selecting new worlds and world transfers for A Realm Reborn. Once the global data centers are set up for A Realm Reborn, we are planning the following for world transfers.

• In the event that you don't complete the transfer procedure, you will be transferred to a pre-determined world.
• In the event you complete the transfer procedure, you can select from a list of worlds you can move to and will be transferred to the world of your choice.

In order to eliminate any concerns about being transferred to a world you didn’t want to move to or being separated from your friends, we will be keeping the transfer procedure open for a long period of time as well as making various announcements to ensure that everyone is aware and can go where they like.

For Beta Test phase 3, fundamentally we are planning to allow anyone who possesses a Square Enix FINAL FANTASY XIV service account to participate in testing, so it will be possible to make contact with your friends from within the game.

We will be preparing thorough details regarding this whole process so that there is no confusion, and will be announcing them at a later date.

In the end, the server transfer application period was less than one month:

World transfer application period:
From PDT, June 21 (Friday) to 07:59 a.m. PDT, July 15 (Monday), 2013.

I myself was obsessed with this topic, as some of you may know :blush:, and literally looked for new information daily, but obviously others have better things to do with their time.

Anyway, I'm happy that the server the two people have posted about here have inadvertently become stuck on for a while will turn out to be the best of the JP ones for them.

Do you mean during the transfer period? Your choice was whatever you had selected the last time you tapped the Submit button. If you logged back in later you would see it pre-selected.

There's really no place to look now. The game isn't up and the Lodestone(s) are down or frozen since November. We'll find out August __ when Phase 4 starts.

Logging into the world transfer site says the transfer period ended. For those that missed it, perhaps they can contact customer service to find out if anything can be done.
