The Direction of FFXIV

I'm not going to say anything like you're opinion is wrong. However, do you feel SE releasing an MMO with old mechanics that will give a bad name is honorable? Being stubborn and not changing with the times is why eastern RPGs is gaining bad rep(well started too). I believe SE can make XIV a fun modern MMO while not making it a WoW clone. This game will not be successful without compromises. Look how watered down XI is now because of the stubborn design flaws it has.

Being a modern MMO doesn't make it any less of a final fantasy game but instead reaches out to more than one group which will help sustain the health of the game. FFXI started dying once WoW hit and people started realizing how a MMO doesn't have to take up so much time to be enjoyable(among other things). SE will have to reach out to casuals and hardcores while also adding that final fantasy feel to make it at ps3 launch.

edit: SE has already dishonored themselves enough with the PC release.

Neptune: I'm not sure whether you're saying this is a less serious matter than I'm making it out to be. If that's what you're saying then your opinion shouldn't matter as much to the developers.
If you're simply saying a video game shouldn't be a home... The developers are trying to a create a game where players will be for a very long time, similar to a home I guess. So again I say your opinion shouldn't matter as you are giving off the impression you won't be here long.

Which is the biggest flaw atm. ppl are taking ffxiv launch to personally.
They are taking the direction to personally.

I think the game will be fun. It currently looks fun to me. And I wish my pc didn't crap out. I look at the ffxiv CE box and pout cuz I gotta wait to play.

I agree with some stuff though, the game should feel like a home that you enjoy coming back to it. Where you family (LS) is who greet you everyday.

But also where you meet new friends. that why I like ffxi old community when first played it. I felt like home on the game.
