lol that's kinda awesome actuallyThing is, 14 want to be unique, having an AH wouldn't make it unique...
How about this? Maybe in a Update, side mission, or something you get from a mission, you get a Mog. Lets say you are killing major NM,grinding, or don't want to search Wards yourself. need an item. You can summon your Mog and search items in the market wards using the Mog, you don't have to move. You Send Mog off when you find desired item, they take a small fee (1-5k gil? more?) they bring it to you(1-5min delay? gil amount you pay gives a faster delivery?). That sounds unique to me O.o
this idea just popped in my head =/.
The crashing of the wards i don't know how to fix though.
I played Aion after ffxi and I had the worst time on that game : / All the menues were lagged up and i never found Aion AH to be easy. I played it around Aions US launch. But quit after obviouse reasons. If they improved things then cool. I was just sharing my experience. I don't like auction houses mostly because ppl rely on them for prices and getting items. Most item xare over priced cuz of player greed. Like ffxi barwater/ra was double the shop price that was next door.
I liked ffxi UI actually it was quick and easy. Aion wasn't to me.

just becaused some claim something is useful don't actually mean it is. I never liked the AH system. I never had an easy time getting gear i wanted/needed on any game with an AH in it. I spent weeks hunting for items for quests, gear, spells. I never had an easy time making money either. My stuff never sold. And I did all sorts of stuff to make gil/gold/ money.
Yes, Kilta, we know that you've been traumatized by poor AH sales. You've said so three times now.
Explain to me how any of this is better with a convoluted version of AH?
Edit:
Upon further thought, I'm not sure that what I just said is going to be clear to you.
The problems that you complain about are the result of an in-game economy. They will happen in any system, regardless of how it is organized. Having market wards (AH + a lot of unnecessary running) is not going to be better in that regard than having an AH.
If you can see how it will be, please explain.

Player
games don't need "auction houses". Since you actually just buy out right its not really an auction. I played alot of mmo w/o them and they do fine. I find it funny that most ppl here are up in arms about a game going easy mode, or how anima breaks the game. But you want to buy items "easier". contradicting yourselves is kinda silly.
I never said I was traumatized. I just said my experiences. Do you really gotta be a (censored)?
protip: grudges are bad.
I personally like the AH set up in ffxi. I found searches to be silly. With ffxi you can see items easier just by scrolling. A search can get laggy when the AH is popular. I had that issue in WoW and Aion. I had to go to one of the unpopular AHs just to look for things. And even still barely found anything I wanted/ needed.
I like having interactive features. Not menue'ed features. It adds immersion to the game![]()
EPIC FAIL typo.
I like this system because multi-point procurement discourages AH squatting and market playing. Overuse of the AH became a problem in FFXI, where real consumers couldn't get good prices on items because flippers squatted easy 1-point procurement bottlenecks and got to them first, then just marked them up 40%. That is, if they didn't park a bot by the AH to do that for them.
Set your bot in XI to buy all crawler coccoons for 2k, try every 45 seconds. Do it all night long. You wake up with a ton of crawler coccoons. Now you can either sell all those for 3k each because your bot kept everyone else from getting crawler coccoons or you can power level your weaver for cheaper than anyone else can because you caught every reasonably priced coccoon out there.
In XIV you wake up with nothing if you didn't really do any work.
Too many people who want an auction house simply want the right to squat the AH and spam it for their own personal benefit. Not because it's better.
Which MMOs are these? Just two or three names will be fine.
This isn't addressed to me, so I won't respond.
Your frequency, vehemence, and lack of relevance in repeating these experiences suggests trauma. /shrug
Huh?
Now who is contradicting themselves? You liked XI's AH, but you don't like menus?
That's like saying "I went to the hardware store and barely found any groceries" and expecting to be taken seriously.
