Where the Hell is Kat Community Event

Good evening everyone and thank you for taking interest in our community event, “Where the Hell is Kat?”

One of our leaders of Distant World named Katella and her trusty cameraman, Mini Ninja, would like to host a full-public event open to all servers and all players wanting to participate.

Currently, we have no set date for this event, but we would like to hold it after the game’s official launch in order to not break NDA. (Obviously, this means that this event is going to be recorded)

The Event will take place for a full month at various times of day and on different servers in order to get as many people wanting to participate in as possible.

What is this event?

Well, for anyone familiar with the popular youtube video, Where the Hell is Matt (lol I almost typed “Maat”…damn my FFXI-ness), we are simply recreating this.

This is completely voluntary, but we would like to have as many people participate as possible, so don’t be afraid to invite your ls-mates and friends along for the ride. And if you can speak different languages, relay this message to them as well! No one is excluded!

What do I have to do?

SIMPLE! When we finally do have times, days, and places to gather (As every location of filming will be different to also show off the new areas of FFXIV), all you have to do is show up on any character of your choice and /dance…or /happy, or any other mix of crazy emotes you want to get everyone there shakin and movin and grovin for only a few minutes! Then you can skitter off back to whatever quest or whatever you were doing.

All of this crazyness will happen behind our adorable little lalafel, Katella Avenlea, and will be recorded by Mini~ Then the video will be compiled and edited, and uploaded on Mini’s youtube channel, as well as Distant World’s linkshell channel, when the process is complete.

We will be updating this Thread when we finally have come up with dates and times and servers (We hope to participate on every single server…JP or not)

A ROUGH ballpark of this event would be throughout September or October.

Why are you making this thread now if you don’t even have dates and times? O.o

Well, because we want as many people to participate as possible, we’re starting to spread the word now. But, just keep an eye on this thread for updates~

Besides going crazy, is there any way I can participate?

Well, you could also use this thread to point out beautiful locations in Eorzea that you have come across that we could use as filming locations, besides the obvious of course being the main cities. (We will need a lot)

EDIT: What locations will we be filming at? And What Server will this be on?

The Locations have not yet been fully decided, but of course the main cities will be added. However, the rest will be decided by you guys! as well as members who participate on our LS forums.

We need 70 locations! :O And we plan to hold 2 locations per server! a high-level area, and a low level area. (Since I counted 35 servers)

No worries, Arwen...it is planned to go to every server so that no matter what server you're on, you'll have a chance to participate ^^ We'll hold a few locations on each server.
