I'm glad you found your naming suitable! I've definitely been leaning more and more towards Guksblut just because it sounds more Highlander-esque. It's probably going to be what I roll it to. I like Haxan Shivar, it's got a dark magic ting to it.Oooooo i Like Mathewelin Guksbane, but Mathewelin Guksblut sounds more fierce to me. Almost has a "fear me, I have blood on my hands" kind of feel to it! Very nice work!
I personally really like the naming conventions for the Highlanders! When I started playing FFXIV I chose a Duskwight Elezen and named him Haxaan Shivar. I just really like the ring to it. Once the beta for ARR came around and some of the new Higlander choices came available I started leaning towards it. Once I read the Highlander Naming conventions it got me thinking... i started researching and found out that Häxan is an old world Swedish word. it is derived from the word häx which means witch. This word likely draws for the original form of the word hex, or curse. This struck me as amazing because my main is a Blackmage. How fitting a name for a Highlander mage.
I started looking further into the last name I had chosen, Shivar. I found that Shivar is a name used a lot in Indian or Hindu naming. It denotes someones relationship to the god Shiva. Which is perfect since I plan to go Summoner lol. I feel like it could have been a name given to him in battle because of his dark icy cold demeanor in battle and use of the blizzard spells, and could have been an intimidating or almost insulting nickname for him almost stating that he was in league with the beastmen. I think this works but I'm new at all this lore business. What do you guys think?
