Miqo'te name question

Hello

I was wondering if anyone knew what language or language family miqo'te names are based on (if any at all!).

I am a Moonkeeper, and I am thinking of changing my name at launch, but the guide doesn't give much indication on how to make them.

Sorry, perhaps I wasn't clear enough in my question. I just need some further information on the origin of the moonkeeper names if it is available... the letter combinations seem a little strange to me. If they are based on an actual language, it would help quite a bit. ^^

Gotcha, not many tips on a root language according to that post huh? Other than the "hissing/spitting sound" and the names following English phonics.

It's a name generator for the races of Eorzea. It may not be as custom as you would like, but it could lead to something you can call your own.

I'm not sure they are based on anything, really. Just more to do with approximately how many syllables long they are inserting those aitches.

I have found Arabic to be somewhat useful in brainstorming, but not every word universally works for it, it can take a few iterations to land on something I like.

You could always look at NPC names on the GamerEscape wiki for inspiration. Also remember that German, Norwegian, English, French, and Celtic languages are already used by Roegadyn, Hyur, and Elezen, so you could draw inspiration from... everything else?

I always thought Miqo'te names sounded more islander.

You may also want to try this page http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Category:Mithra_NPCs for names of Mithra in FFXI. There are a lot more XI mithra npcs then Miqo'te npcs and the names do follow the Keeper conventions, not to mention also sharing several of them.

I play a Keeper of the Moon as well. If you are looking for "strange" names, you can get inspiration from Native American languages. My character name is from the Chemehuevi language, Aya Kisagaivya.
