The Lightning Returns video before showed how the story was going to revolve around Lightning visiting different worlds under threat and saving them.

If she comes to Eorzea for a limited-time event in February next year to save Hydaelyn (again), that sits easy with me from a lore standpoint.

I didn't get that impression at all. From what I understand, the world is ending over and over and Lightning is in a loop until she can save it. She isn't wandering between dimensions like Gilgamesh, so I'm not too pleased with having her show up completely.

They could have pulled a Dissidia and copy/pasted her existence into Eorzea and it would have felt a little better. They did the same thing with the Colosseum in XIII-2 by having a copy of her XIII self appear as a competitor. It'd be easier to make that idea canon for both games. Possibly some mishap when she returned from Dissidia... (I'll have to look at that story again to make sure she actually did return).

Bah, that's a shame. I took "you must rescue as many people as you can from this world and lead them to the next" to mean she'd be travelling through worlds, but I guess it could just be time-travel again.

Apparently the subtle nods to other FFs are completely outrageous, but if we're being slapped in the face with references everything is fine and dandy =/

The reason a few people were upset about Omnislash (myself included) was that we were under the mistaken impression that limit breaks were job-specific, not role specific. That would have meant that Omnislash was a DRG limit break (as opposed to something that makes more sense for spear wielders). Once we all figured out that all (melee) DD will have the same limit breaks a lot of the anger simmered down. Others were mad specifically because it's from FF7 of course, but I'm guessing they're the minority.

As for the FF13 gear; I don't like it, but I see why they are doing it. They are desperate to get people to buy both of the "we're fixing poorly recieved" games. So we get a Lightning event in ARR and Miqo'te RSE in 13-3. As long as it's a limited time "holiday" event it won't bug me too much.

This comes from the false notion that the forums are collectively one person complaining about everything, even if the complaints conflict with each other.

Buster sword is a little uncomfortable, but Lightning is outrageously so. This is my stance, and I'm sticking to it until I can reevaluate it upon witnessing Lightning in context.
