I've never heard a developer say that. But saying they are planning to implement something like /aggroicon on and then /aggroicon off to be used each time I want to check on the enemy isn't very comforting. Specially after seeing the screenshot that shows they are planning to add the enemy's level to it.
Wrong. A clear example of game immersion is gripping your controller in fear of getting aggroed on your first trip to jeuno opposed to running mindlesly on XIV against a bunch of aggresive mobs in hope to lead them away from where you want to get by dying and respawning over and over again.
