New Holiday Event Idea. The Fall of Dalamud/Meteor Remembrance Day.

What about a holiday like Memorial Day? It's not really a somber day for the US.

True, but memorial day doesn't focus on any specific disaster, it's more a day of thanks for what our fallen troops gave. Further it is in fact a somewhat bleak holiday, in which many choose to visit graves and cemeteries, and hold ceremonies there for the purpose of remembrance... That said, let's have a BBQ for this dalamud day XD

You have made some pretty good points. Going on more of a Memorial Day route perhaps make it Louisoix Day lol. A day of remembering him and the others for everything they did to save the realm.

Also with Memorial day, don't forget all the "memorial days sales" we have at retailers across the country along with the BBQs. lol.

In the early parts of the story (in Ul'dah) Momodi tells the player how people can't remember exactly what happened during the event nor who the Heroes of Light are, just that they existed (think of MIB2 with the giant flash in the sky to make people forget what they saw in the whole city). However she also says that everyone has their own version of what happened. This leads to a little bit of ambiguity in my opinion. I read that as it could mean some people believe the Heroes of Light were the cause of the calamity.

I have been thinking for a while about how we should have a community driven event instead of waiting for the development team to do it for us.

It would be every year, either at the date when the servers went down or at the date when servers went back up.

It would be some kind of recognition for all the effort and time put into this game by the development team, and for us as a remembrance of all our adventures that cannot be lived again.

It could be something as simple as gathering together at camps, or having a dress code (like dye all your gears in white for the duration of the event... or maybe black?). We could maybe do a walk around some important areas, or visit the scars that can be seen in the new maps we have now.

idk... I been pondering about it for a while now... but dunno if anyone would be interested and kinda disregard the idea as "silly".

I like your idea, and would fully support this. We could all wear our Dalamud horns and deity rings and maybe go on a pilgrimage to all of the stones of the Twelve. I found Nymeia's stone last weekend ^^
