Concern about "Branching Classes"

I can see where this is confusing you/upsetting you. If you would give me but a moment of your time.

If you were a employed as a Grade School Teacher, you'd most likely want to start with year 2 or year 3 students. This is because they respect their elders. Generally speaking. You aren't experienced enough to teach hormonal teens yet.

Now at some point in your career; you might be offered a job. (key note; "job" reference) This job will require a summer course of sorts before you can become a teacher of higher learning. (University and so on) By this time, you'll have taught children from ages 5 to 15. Perhaps even 18. Now then, teaching is pretty much the same during every phase.

The application of skills change but the theory is the same. In FFXIV the same applies to your "classes" and "jobs" Conjurers will heal and will continue to heal as White Mage. Thaumaturge will continue to deal magic based damage as Black Mage.

But before you can become a White Mage or a Black Mage, or even a University Professor. You have to take supplemental classes to further your knowledge of said roles. In other words. Job Quests starting at level 30.

I think it should start at lvl 1 again when you unlock the job. I can understand if it a 1-1 but since they are going to be branching off 1-2. . I think when they come out with new jobs, just have the new jobs by themselves. Like for instance need a lvl 30 war and lvl 15 lance to unlock samurai. To me it defeats the purpose of a lvling game if I lvl 1 job that lvls everything that branches to it.

only thing i dont like is jobs only get 5 skills thats make them different. i hope in ARR theres some kinda tweak to the class skills when your playing a job.

will 5 skills for now but once we get to level 60+ it be other story.

I'm sure they'll release more classes. Currently we have nothing that can wield Katana, Great Katana, Whips, Hand Axes, Guns, Great Swords, and more. They can add jobs to existing classes, but I think a lot of the jobs people ask for most (NIN, SAM, RDM) would seem forced if not added to a new class.

No, I don't think RDM would be good as an offshoot of GLA, since GLA is built for tanking lol.

its still along way off before we get enough to actually have a full job. every 5 levels you get a skill after level 30. every 2 years is there plan to rasie the cap and they might do it 5 levels at a time. so around 2017 we'll have 4 more skills and almost 2020 before you can fill a hotbar with jobs skills.

It does not matter jobs are not a full job there just spec lol there just something to add onto your class i think that bee said over 500times in this topic.


And yes they be shit load of new class added to this game along with shit load of jobs. Even jobs that not even in FFXI but other FF jobs we love and want to see.
