Concern about "Branching Classes"

I think it should start at lvl 1 again when you unlock the job. I can understand if it a 1-1 but since they are going to be branching off 1-2. . I think when they come out with new jobs, just have the new jobs by themselves. Like for instance need a lvl 30 war and lvl 15 lance to unlock samurai. To me it defeats the purpose of a lvling game if I lvl 1 job that lvls everything that branches to it.

A job isn't something that is so drastically different from the base class that it must be leveld on its own. Jobs are specialized roles for the classes, rather than totally separate entities that must be relearned from square one.
