A small correction for you moose. "Wozu..." translates as "To what end...?". Nael seems to be implying that a drawn out campaign against the beast tribes is futile as the land would be left dead of aether. Whereas if you dropped the "bomb" on it you would have a raw landmass, but with aether that you can do something with.
...'course, I've just started down the pondering path again...
