I'd be fine with lookalikes :B But not the actual characters. Nope. That would make no sense. :V

At least we can clear this one up and get right on to useless speculation!

No Sazh no party.

Regardless, I still think it'd be awesome to be able to challenge the Villains and Hero Parties of past games in a Coliseum-type setting with a group of 4, 8 or even 24.

Honestly, after the very start of that video, I'm going to be disappointed if I can't play every single Final Fantasy title through FFXIV: ARR. Seems like a great idea for the Gold Saucer. Or even through the mothercrystal, which links all of the games together. That's the best way to get XIII characters in the game.
Also, this thread should be about how Thaumaturge's "Thunder" should actually be called "Lightning" because, y'know, it's LIGHTNING.

According to the blog post it's an in-game costume for Lightning Returns.

Apparently most of you didnt watch the actual letter..one of the guys working on lighting returns showed a picture of lightning as a miquote. Yoshi laughed and said if you put that in game we have to put something from 13 in our game and threw out some ridiculous ideas like jumping dimensions into xiv. The entire time they were all laughing and joking about it not taking the actual thing seriously. The live letter itself as a joke they just invited whoever wanted to come in to the booth in and talked about e3 and joked around. There was no game footage and they answered questions that had already been answered prior.
