The new battle area and graphics for the Ifrit fight along with of course the new graphics for Ifrits attacks are INSANE! Did you see how they re-did the flooring?! It's all dried up and hot looking with cracks all over, and the ring of fire looks so real o_o I am VERY impressed.
Along with the fact that I saw players running off the exploding cracks LAST SECOND and didn't get hit, thank god! No more lagging :O
yeah, the only times they seem to get hit are when they are still in the cracked area when ifrit's cast bar finishes.
Looking good![]()
Watching it again I also love how Ifrit has a chat bubble so it's easier to read his commands to know when certain attacks are coming up.
It also has a little loading circle at the end of the chat bubble to let you know how much longer you have to read it before it disappears, it's small but that makes a huge difference in battles where you have to think quickly.
The user interface and windows and whatnot all look enhanced and fixed up and polished, awesome![]()

People are being stupid about this in...other...forums. Crying about how lag is back and blah blah. They aren't even paying attention to the fact that the game locks your character's position if you're still in the AoE when the casting bar fills.
The animation and the casting bar don't line up perfectly, but I really don't think this is a lag thing.
Hvinire said out loud during the livestream that one of the characters was out of range of radiant plume but still got hit. Don't know how you can really deny it now.

She was in range when Ifrit finished casting, so she got hit.
If she had gotten out before the cast bar finished like she did on the previous AOE circles, she wouldn't have taken damage.
Edit -
The one after that the Archer was just on the edge of the radiant flames when the cast bar finished.
I don't think she was completely out of it (was really close, though) We can all test this ourselves soon enough, I think.
The youtube video is a little too pixellated to see perfectly clearly. I feel like we're analyzing footage to see whether or not someone got the first down when they were millimeters away from the line...

Are we all sure about where the Servers are? Maybe they are playing on Japanese Worlds, and it could explain some bad old memories that the fight brought back to our minds...
EDIT:
You should be hit when Eruption explodes, so the lag is between the end of the cast and the explosion animation.![]()
That was my first thought, but as the post above noted, it's about where you are when the monster's cast time bar finishes, not whether you were touching the visual effect or not. It seems that the visual effect only begins to play when the bar finishes, even though the damage is done at that moment. Are we all sure about where the Servers are? Maybe they are playing on Japanese Worlds, and it could explain some bad old memories that the fight brought back to our minds...
EDIT:
You should be hit when Eruption explodes, so the lag is between the end of the cast and the explosion animation.
