because it actually tell us something, unlike this trailer that jumping from one character/NPC pov to the other
new player wont able to conclude anything from this trailer

That is why it is a trailer, not a movie. >.> This is the format most trailers have, a bunch of random scenes.

As for the red head, I just assumed that is the player stand in.

That was my first thought as well. I had to watch it a second time to noticed that the mysterious guy doesn't have Elezen ears. My next thought was one of the 'Lambs of Dalamud'.

I am more intrigued they completely dropped the FFX|V ARR tag, until the very very end small graphic. But they just kept Final Fantasy XIV. Also the weird | in X|V is gone now.

WHOA, I for one loved that trailer!! So much feels!

-First and foremost, Gaius and his posse!!!

That looks like a Roegadyn on the left? If the Garlean legati are not just humans, I'd really like to see a bad ass evil Lalafell one. Preferably wielding a physical weapon so he/she is a different type of bad ass than Shantoto.
-We all knew the Primals are bad asses too, but the voices do a great job in bringing them to life. It was sweet getting our first look at the Titan fight as well.
-With so much epicness in the primals/Garleans, music and story, I actually really appreciated the flashiness of our abilities in this trailer. It felt like we as heroes have the power to stand up to all of this. It would've sucked if the bad guys talked to us in this large booming voice, and then we came in fighting with these puny abilities.
-Which would bring me to limit breaks which are looking awesomeeee! It seemed strange to me that DRG seemingly has Omnislash, but the abilities themselves look very cool. That black mage pose is pure win lol.
-As others guessed, it looks like that's Ultima Weapon at 2:00???
-By far one of the BEST things I love about this game and am looking forward to is it's story and cutscenes. This is teasing at SO many things. The fact that a legatus comes into the Path of the Twelve HQ and confronts Minfilia... oh man oh man.
-I interpreted the aether part as all the lil swirls represent all of us the players, coming out of the aether and starting our journey. Besides 1.0 players teleported from the last battle, every character comes out of the aether from character creation after all!
-My only guess for the mysterious man at the end is he's an ascian??
-The english va wasn't bad at all imo. That said, I'll probably play JP voices. But hey, thanks again SE for letting us make the choice.

All in all, What I loved most is that for the first time in a long while, we finally get a real glimpse of the story. I had this really special feeling when I saw/heard so many of the characters I've grown to love. Minfilia in her awesome redesign (which imo is A LOT better than her generic 1.0 design), cid with his manly man beard, the three GC leaders... I think it's really starting to hit me - man, we're almost there. Yeah we're trying out the gameplay during beta. But to LIVE and experience the game through it's story... We're almost there.
