Right, I pay for a service and game that is constantly updated and it doesn't bug me. It's like subscribing to a weekly journal or magazine. And I can still take my computer to my friends house and play the game if I desire.

But Console games typically don't offer such content upgrades, and when they DO, you pay for them as if you were buying a new game, albeit at a lower price point. This isn't even accounting for how many gamers DON'T play MMO's in part because they have no viable internet access. Teasing that we're not allowed to go 'hey that's not what consoles should be about/require' simply because we also happen to play MMO's is pointless.

I shouldn't have to 'rebuy' a game because I wish to take the game disk, and my saved character data and walk into my bedroom and continue playing it...so that my husband can play a different game on the xbox I had been playing on...or even so that my husband can watch tv.

Xbox/Microsoft...and the game developers pushing for this, just really didn't think things through.
