Why did you choose to be a Conjurer?

I chose Con because it's so versatile. I can heal if my party needs healing. I can nuke if my party needs nuking. And I can solo pretty easily because I have access to heals and nukes.

I also chose Con because I hate being pigeon-holed into a role, and it would disappoint me greatly if they got rid of Con's nuking and made it a healing only class (which is what the thinly veiled motivation of some of the posts in this thread is... sorry, don't want BLMs and WHMs that can only do one or the other)

Im pretty much with Kaedan. I dislike being pigeon holed into existing for just one purpose (a la WHM, BLM) but I played SCH in FFXI and I really enjoyed it. Not only could I nuke and debuff when I wanted to, but I could heal and buff up too, it was really intense and kept me involved in the fights all the time. I find and feel that CON plays similar to SCH, and therefore I am never bored in a fight.

I actually have a few fond memories of levelling CON up to 50, quite a few times where the party has wiped and and I would be the only one standing and still destroy the monsters solo, or when someone pulled a few too many raptors and I was the only mage, I kept the team alive with my CC, debuffs nukes and heals, etc lol its fun to be a CON that doesnt just stick to healing or nuking. ^^
