I'll miss Masamune, but I prefer to be on a NA server.

Now it's also my understanding that the beta server you're on at the end of Phase 4 determines where your character will be for launch unless you apply for a transfer. Right?

What determines where your 1.0 character will be is their 1.0 server, unless you apply for a world transfer.

Characters from Version 1.0 will be automatically transferred to new Worlds bearing the same names as before.

For FFXIV: ARR, additional data centers have been established in regions outside of Japan. Version 1.0 character data has been transferred to these regional data centers, and will be subsequently transferred to Worlds bearing the same names as before.

In the event that your character data has been transferred to an undesired region, we ask that you submit a World transfer application. Applications will be accepted during phase 3, and transfers will occur during phase 4.

Please read over the details of the World transfer before filling out the application.

It pays to stay well informed. ^^;

If you don't plan to play until later, because of school, work, or whatever, you can still apply for that world transfer and hopefully be on the world of your choice when you do get back to the game.

Most people going to bitch just wait and see. Look at legacy it was send by email over 3times said in many gaming site but they miss it. At least by the time they join they may be a way to switch for a fee lol.

Eh... I feel like SE should offer the ability to transfer worlds throughout the game (maybe charge a small fee like mentioned above). Some Legacy members may return a bit later than others, and find themselves separated from everyone they know, alone on a world with a mostly JP population.

Yeah I think that would work too. I think the server transfer is going to be available after a certain amount of time after release.
