Not saying a sniper rifle specifically is a good idea for an MMO, or a cannon for scholar, but Arcanists in 1.0 dealt with dangerous contraband, including mechanical weapons. Have you seen Urianger's tea-kettle staff thing? That's the original ACN weapon. I was pretty bummed they settled on books after seeing that, although it does make more sense with FFTA in mind.

And really, Al, was it necessary to rain on a fun thread? These forums don't get enough positive energy as is.
