ARR in 3D!

3D is not for me, I get a headache watching a movie at the cinema and that's being static, I can't imagine what it would do to my eyes after hours and hours of gaming.

I've tried enjoying 3D at the cinema and in the home on numerous films over the years but every time I give it another go it totally ruins the experience for me.

Maybe in a few years when we don't have to wear stupid glasses, a headset and mic are enough for me at the moment hehe.

I also remember the Tanaka video, it looked cool but even eye-finity set-ups are silly to me, hate bezels.

I would imagine that playing in 3D would be toggle-able. Not a perma-always-on dealio. Get sick or start getting a headache and return to 2D.

It is, but since it's the drivers that do the work, you need to close the client then reopen it. I played 1.0 in 3D on occasion.

With the nVidia 3D Vision set up, you just hit CTRL-T to toggle 3D on/off at any time during gameplay.. no need to close the client. This goes for any Direct X game.

1.0 looked amazing in 3D by the way. Really added something to the game and made you feel like you were there.

Not till you can seamlessly enable and disable it within this game no. I only used 3D during Primals (excluding moogle) and Nael van Darnus's battle because let's be honest 3D is quite boring unless you watch something that is full of effects or things constantly come at you. The only game I can think of that I've enable it full time is Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead: 2.

It depends on what is your GPU manufacture, with nvidia you need a 120~hz monitor and their NVIDIA 3D Vision Kit(not just the glasses).


AMD has HD3D, but it requires separate software that's not free and you need a Monitor or TV that is 3D compatible and come with their own glasses. AMD's method isn't all that great to be honest, more compatibility issues.

Eww, I have AMD lol. I do have a 3D TV in the family room I can hook the PS3 into I guess.
