Nope. In the world of commercial relations of all kinds all statements made by or on behalf of a high ranking officer of a company about a product and service to be provided, directly to customers are considered promises to those customers.

No, it's grounds for questions and requests for clarifications. Which is what this thread is, as per OP.

During Phase 3, apparently. World transfer requests will start "mid-June" (slightly after beta phase 3 starts?).

It would be most beneficial for SE to post if and which world will be designated RP before then. Likewise to post if/which "new world"(s) will be officially designated RP as well. (I'm going out on a limb to assume if the game does even moderately well at launch, we would see the number of new worlds double or triple from the initial Phase 3 list, and maybe even add a LEGACY server for this reason or that.)

Perhaps the reason the actual location s aren't being used is that would cause population imbalance and lower interest if their closest server was full, even though the gameplay difference would be negligible had they chosen another US server. Do we know the difference between the servers at any rate to segregate where people should play further?

All the NA/EU servers are in the same physical location, which looks to be Quebec (if The Dude is to be believed). As far as I can gather, that's some strange Canadian version of New York, which is in itself a strange, American version of York, which is a strange, British version of somewhere in the Roman Empire.

Server location? No individual server would be closer to someone than any other server in the same data center, and there's only one for NA/EU. I did a quick check and if the data center is where we assume, all of NA/EU is better served from there than from Japan. Were you talking about Oceania? If I've said something confusing again, I apologize.

I always just assumed Balmung would be the de-facto RP server like it was in 1.0...I guess we'll see what pans out
