Effectively what we've been trying to tell Abriael. They will tell us when they are good and ready. There is no point in trying to push them to announce it sooner than that.

A couple further questions if you don't mind (I know you probably won't be able to respond immediately, but I'll leave them here for when you can):

1: In the case the server won't be ready for beta 4 or launch, will we be granted a free transfer to it when it will be ready?

2: In the case the server will be ready for beta 4, but not by when transfer applications will start being accepted, will be be able to change our transfer application to the RP server?

Since you're obviously not interested in a RP server, but just in derailing this thread, you're no judge on whether there's a point or not.

As a matter of fact, there's plenty point in knowing in an RP server will be provided before we make a choice, especially since organizing one's friends network to get as many people as possible on the same server is not something that can be done in 10 minutes.

Thank you, Hvinire! This is an important topic to many of us, and it helps to ease a bit of anxiety to know that it's still in the works. We did indeed need to know that it hadn't been forgotten and that we will get an answer.

Although I won't be playing on one, I know a lot of people are super-interested in being able to play on an RP server. Hopefully we get some more news soon.

However, Yoshi-P has only (so far) confirmed that there would be "a roleplay server" (meaning singular). If we're limited to one, it only makes sense to designate a server that everyone has access to. And since the majority of the RP community already resides on Balmung, a legacy server, it's really just logical to designate that as the RP server, IMO. That solution is the most fair to everyone, and causes the least amount of upheaval.

Would work for me. Luckily all servers are accessible to everyone (and datacenter location seems rather irrelevant. If they feel Canada is ok for European players, then even Japan would be ok for pretty much everyone as well), so whatever server they designate it would work, even if they made a new one on purpose.

What matters is having one and being able to get everyone on it.

Well, technically, yes, they're all accessible by everyone. But legacy players can't bring their 1.0 characters to non-legacy servers, correct? They would have to create new characters.

So, again, if they're thinking of only one RP server, it would be most fair to everyone to designate a legacy server.

Absolutely! We don't always agree on everything, Abriael, but it seems that on this topic we do.

I think that when we are able to actually pick our servers for transfer they will mark the RP server then. There is no sense in making it after launch since the RP community wants to know where to go -now- and the non RP'ers want to know which server to avoid. I have a feeling they'll make Balmung the RP server (Since it was made from Besaid, the un-official RP server), and they connected Balmung to an NA datacenter.

I think by mid-june, we'll all know what's what... atleast I hope so

Unfortunately I see nothing of the sort in the newly published server list. Does that mean we can forget about it?

If instead there's something in store, knowing before server transfers will be enacted may be a good idea, even if I'm not holding my breath about it.

With chat filters and ri-diculously sized Free companies, there isn't really anything stopping you from RP'ing to your heart's content.

That said, I don't think the world would end if they gave you what you want.

That's not the issue. Having RP servers officially creates an environment dedicated to roleplay, where like-minded people can converge easier.

Besides, we have been told we'd get it, and the least they can do is tell us if the plan has been scrapped or we can expect something.
