Yeah I'm confused by this as well. Does it mean EU servers will be the same as NA servers? Because that would be great since I wouldn't lose my EU friends.![]()

I think there 1 EU data center and 4 for new chars that how i look at it but we wont know to a dev say otherwise.
Also remember they also said they be checking how many players play during beta1-4 to see if they need to add more worlds.

yep, that's what I was worried about. I loved the diversity of JP/NA/EU servers in FFXI and FFXIV, and would really hate to be forced to play on a EU only or NA/EU only server.
There are no conflicting statements. it is now apparently slated to become possible in phase 4 of the beta.It does need clarification though, since we have two conflicting statements of when this will happen per my first post in this thread, both made by SE or its representatives.
I'm not really certain why it matters when it happens in the first place. Are you worried about the impact it will have if people see your current ugly character for a few more weeks?
What do you love about the diversity so much? how does it improve the game? As a general rule, I think diversity is a good thing, but the game isn't any better or worse for how many people that don't speak your language are on your server.yep, that's what I was worried about. Besides, all you ahve to do is join a server in another region and volia, instant diversity.

Sadly you going to lose that diversity even without changing worlds. Most people going to end up not staying in JP worlds i'm sure they be a few but they going to end up regretting it due to not a lot of other EU/NA players during there hours. I play on on Ridill during the JP hours so i'm pretty use to it but i be still going to a NA world.
Going to miss seeing a lot of JP/EU players tho![]()

I strongly disagree. Most people are going to stay on their same worlds because it's easier than moving and they can be sure they're with all their friends.Sadly you going to lose that diversity even without changing worlds.
Move to a JP/EU server and you won't have to miss them. It's clear there are plenty of people of your mind, so you should still find peers even on those servers.Going to miss seeing a lot of JP/EU players th
(sigh, i had a feeling this thread would turn into another segregation debate...)

It's not something that's going to improve the game in any way, I just like it better this way. And I wasn't complaining about that there are NA/EU only server, just was worried that I'd be forced in a NA or EU server. There are no conflicting statements. it is now apparently slated to become possible in phase 4 of the beta.

I don't care about that, I'll probably "rm -rf" my char at some point since I'm getting tired of MMOs in general. It's almost alway the same song, drama, crap and more drama anyways.Sadly you going to lose that diversity even without changing worlds. You really fail at reading comprehension then. I quoted both statements in my first post (of which the "at launch" version is more recent than Hvinire's "phase 4" version, giving less reason to assume phase 4 is the more correct one since it is older), and I already answered your second question in my second post, and has nothing to do what anyone thinks of anyone else's character appearance, only their own character. There are no conflicting statements. it is now apparently slated to become possible in phase 4 of the beta.

Not engaging over this any further since you just want to dismiss it outright. Just gonna wait and hope for SE to address this.

I'm not dismissing it outright. however, your concern/worry/demand for clarification is unnecessary and pointless. It will happen when it happens, and the end result will be the same in either possible situation. You really fail at reading comprehension then. I like playing with different folks from different regions. Since it's player's choice, I don't think there's anything to worry about. As long as I don't see those annoying... General/Trade chats... that I see a lot on WoW...
