Eye Design & Steampunk Accessories

In the recent "A New Beginning" Trailer the 4 members of the Circle of Knowing, Y'shtola, Yda, Papylamo and Thancred bear 2 things: a 'eye' design on their left sleeves/collars and a strange goggle/clock steampunk-style device, woth around the neck, on the sleeve or head. Though I would make a thread specifically for discussion/speculation on what these items mean.

1) The Eye Design




Kinda reminicent of LoZ Gossip stones (or boing-boing rocks) they feature an open eye with brackets to either side and lines coming from the bottom. Kinda hard to see on the Gridanian folk cause of the camera angles. Not sure wether this marking is like their neck tatoos and reserves for the Circle of Knowing only, or if it is the Survivor Mark.


2) The Steampunk Device




Featuring goggle-like lenses and a circular measuring device (could be with a compass or a clock. Yda's seems to be folded and worn on her head. It almost looks like a mask.



3) Legacy Chocobo


Also a little related since this thread is about symbols and marking, the Legacy Chocobo seems to have a design on their beak (not sure whether it is armour or not) but it seems to be directly on their beak.


What do you think of the symbols?

1000gil says Cid made those steam punk things... I wonder if they are used to detect something in particular?

I believe they never specified the 'Mark' as being on our bodies, so it is possible a clothing mark could be what we will receive...

As for the Chocobo, I was confused at first because it has orange tips on it's tail and head feathers in the video; however through concept art we can see they should be black.
But those are definitely Legacy Chocobo Beak Markings

I think the chocobo looks like the legacy chocobo. I see black tips there.

I noticed those too, guess we'll have to wait and see.

Also, at the end of the video that landscape that everyone was looking at from the original PDFs appeared. (the landmass jutting out of the ground) Wonder what that's all about.

Edit: Did anyone else notice that the Miqo'te bard may have utilized a chest enhancement? :P
