Some Cosplay Fun!

A-kon is this weekend here in Dallas, so I decided to dress it up (even though I knew nobody would recognize me LOL). This is my first attempt at cosplay, so don't be harsh

I derped and took off the costume before I could get some more shots, but I'll take some more when I put it back on for the next two days >_>

Breakdown of the costume:

Tunic: Corduroy fabric and fabric glue


Closeup of the tunic top: Shoelaces, poked holes through fabric with awl


White shirt: Adult pirate shirt from Party City


Green pants: Green capris from Ross


Gloves: Clown gloves from Party City. Undid ruffles from wrists, cut tips off the fingers, folded back double, secured with fabric glue



Chest Guard: Vinyl, suede laces. Poked holes with awl. Straps are purse straps from JoAnn's Fabrics (pursemaking section)






Shin guards/calligae: Local costume store. colors weren't right, and the plastic was flimsy. So I coated them with two layers of acrylic gesso, then coated them 3 times with metallic finish brown craft paint





Sandals: Costume sandals from Funtasma. Took me forever to find them >_>
