Some Cosplay Fun!

A-kon is this weekend here in Dallas, so I decided to dress it up (even though I knew nobody would recognize me LOL). This is my first attempt at cosplay, so don't be harsh

I derped and took off the costume before I could get some more shots, but I'll take some more when I put it back on for the next two days >_>

Breakdown of the costume:

Tunic: Corduroy fabric and fabric glue


Closeup of the tunic top: Shoelaces, poked holes through fabric with awl


White shirt: Adult pirate shirt from Party City


Green pants: Green capris from Ross


Gloves: Clown gloves from Party City. Undid ruffles from wrists, cut tips off the fingers, folded back double, secured with fabric glue



Chest Guard: Vinyl, suede laces. Poked holes with awl. Straps are purse straps from JoAnn's Fabrics (pursemaking section)






Shin guards/calligae: Local costume store. colors weren't right, and the plastic was flimsy. So I coated them with two layers of acrylic gesso, then coated them 3 times with metallic finish brown craft paint





Sandals: Costume sandals from Funtasma. Took me forever to find them >_>

Sweet a Dallas Native. I have a few friends there this weekend, but I'm missing out. Might try to swing by tomorrow just to say hi to everyone and bounce. Got a lot of yard work to do.

Heh awesome. We walked around yesterday scoping how many Final Fantasy series charas we could spot, and sure enough...there was only two Lightnings, ten billion Clouds and...one me!

Do you ever go to Quakecon? It's held every year at The Anatole too.

Haven't gone, I just moved to Dallas last August, so I'm still gettin into all the local stuffs. I don't frequent downtown too much either since I live way up over by Plano.

Ah.. You should check out QuakeCon. It's usually every August. This year it's the 1-4th. It's basically a giant LAN party con held by ID/Bethesda. Cosplay is also welcome.

I considered crossplaying as Thancred for about 5 mins...then I figured I'd just go back to my Lady Lilith idea.

This is how almost everyone starts, especially these days where so much stuff comes from China.
You should have seen me the first time with a sewing machine. I only got better with practice of course, and I'm sure you will as well.
