I wouldn't find it funner, personally. I have a few unleveled jobs I could play with any new friends; I'd rather not have to do the job/af quests over again until they need them and be able to do other things when they aren't around. In the end, if your friends are new, wouldnt it be funnier if you joined them on a new server instead? (what im doing) After all, on old servers, there will be few lowlevel people, it will be harder to find parties to play with or linkshells that accepts, and considering the economy, they wont be able to buy lowlevel gear and such from the AH either, remember atomos? ^^
you can't move old characters to the new player servers, unless you start over. But if you want to start over yes, the economy on old servers will be as messed up as it was true. As for not being able to afford starter gear that won't be a problem. Personally if I had friends join my server I would probably give them starter money to help them get into a pre-established economy. In the end, if your friends are new, wouldnt it be funnier if you joined them on a new server instead? Or with a max level character, you can help craft gears for those friends, give them a small bank roll to get started etc.
The economy will be just as silly on a new server...it will just be different items that are overpriced.
And there will be plenty of new players on existing servers:
1. Not everyone leveled all classes to max
2. Not everyone who is considered an 'old' character is level 20 let alone 50. (keep in mind ANY 1.0 character can't be on a 'new' server....that includes my friend who got to level 20 THM and quit)
3. We have spouses, partners and RL friends who all are planning on joining us
4. Not every 'new player' will go to a 'new server'
Dungeons and FATEs are also going to have level sync and seem to be a bulk of the partying experience so you can still play with your low level friends and help them get XP no matter what level you are.
I will be able to assist them when it comes to equipments. I think it's be fun. I'm planning to level arcanist so I'm level one too! ^^In the end, if your friends are new, wouldnt it be funnier if you joined them on a new server instead? Level sync, maybe so, but well, not in a few major patches, and when those major patches has come, the game wont be new anymore, will it? :P (yes, level sync is one of the things that will not be at launch)
