It is a false claim, and the author shows off as completely clueless in multiple occasions.
"Cloud saves"? Did this guy ever play a MMO?
I think this article works great to initiate interest for people who don't follow XIV news at all. Short and to the point, they identified many of the big issues widely known for ver 1.0 and told people how SE worked to directly fix them. Hopefully this article will make them read up more on ARR through longer, more detailed articles elsewhere. The "So, if you buy FFXIV:ARR on PS3, you'll also get a PC copy" line is the only flag that really jumped out at me for being blatantly wrong, but other than that, hopefully this'll reel in some new players!

Only one of those ten reasons was appealing. If I was a new customer I probably would have went right over that article.

Whoever wrote this needs to be careful about making wild claims. "Yoshida-san promises even promises that every single summon from every single title will be lurking around." While I wouldn't put this past Yoshi-P in the long run, that is an extremely big list. Not to mention they've set it up so that almost all of them need a tribe to call them forth in the first place.

This is why other forms of journalism usually have fact-checkers. But then we have to remember that the majority of the MMO Gaming Journalists are just people as well and make mistakes. I swear I read an article not to long ago with some reviewer claiming Defiance was the first cross-platform MMO, lawls followed.

Not to try to defend that wild claim but that bolded part is not exactly true! The summons can appear but mayhaps not as summons! After all, look at Atomos and CarbuncleWhoever wrote this needs to be careful about making wild claims. Somewhere along the line, Square Enix remembered that this is a Final Fantasy game. As such, FFXIV:ARR will be rammed full of iconic staples from the 25 year old franchise. Things such as the Crystal Tower from FFIII (with the terrifyingly naked Cloud of Darkness as boss), moogle postmen, the awesome Magitek armour from FFVI... all of which will either be playable or interactive. Yoshida-san even promises that every single summon from every single title will be lurking around. Yes, even fluffy, useless Carbuncle.
He said that?

Funny how despite the several comments pointing out the enormous mistake, they didn't care to edit it.

More like I don't even remember Cloud of Darkness being there. I remember pictures of Amon being shown, but nothing apart from that.Somewhere along the line, Square Enix remembered that this is a Final Fantasy game.
