I haven't seen anyone ask this question and I really want to make sure of the answer before I make a purchase. If you have a legacy account and you purchase the Hard copy of the CE, can you use that code on your legacy account or do you need to buy the digital upgrade to be able to apply it to your legacy account?

You can use the codes on any account, including your existing one.

Camate, a clarrification is in order. I just pre ordered the PS3 CE from SE. On the completion page it stated, in RED, that my order would not ship til after the official release date of 27 Aug 2013. While I am Legacy and will get Early Access via my PC what about all the new subscribers who pre order from SE expecting early release entry. If they chose the default USPS Ground shipping they will not see their product til after the official release date if this true

There's a preorder page it should be linking people to, http://preorder.na.finalfantasyxiv.com/us. You basically get a redemption code with your preorder, then come and stick it in this page when they announce it, and you get to download the software for early access.

So is anyone else having problems with payment authorizations when trying to buy the CE through Square-Enix' store? I've already tried several times, and have looked at my online balance statements(Chasebank), and I keep getting failed authorization notices. I wish I could just buy this thing through Amazon.

So I read this thread completely but I still unsure about the CE for the PC. Can someone let me know if the physical CE for the PC is going to be sold at other retailers? I always order any of my game from Amazon but all they have is just the digital CE for the PC. The sooner I can find out, the quicker I can go ahead and get my PO in.

For those who thought, they simply could add the 2.0 CE Item Codes to their Standard 1.0 Account:

The German Rep Sasunaich created a FAQ thread which contains a passage about adding 2.0 CE codes to a Standard 1.0 account. At first it was said that this would be possible, but there is an update about this in the FAQ thread.

(Please note that I translated this passage by myself and I hope I got the message right.)

Q: Are 1.0 players who buy the ARR CE able to use the bonuses on their 1.0 account?
A: Legacy players need to use the digital Upgrade-Service, if they want to assign the bonuses of the ARR CE to their 1.0 account.
Legacy players, who bought the 1.0 CE, do not need to do anything, but it is helpful to use the code of the Onion Helmet.

I am going to purchase the 2.0 CE, but if I get this all right, this means I can't use the included item codes on my 1.0 account because it got Legacy status. So actually I have to pay again for these items even though I already got the codes in my CE ...?
Since my account used to be a buddy pass from a 1.0 CE I kind of hope that it is seen as an 1.0 CE account /sigh

We really need a clarification on this. I was planning on getting the PS3 version anyway, so I bought the PS3 CE to kill two birds with one stone. I'd rather not have to also do a digital upgrade to get the digital items since I'm only planning on the using my current account on both systems.

Aww man, this is not cool. They should at least give us the option to trade in the codes from the new CE and get the upgrade thingy.

Vil's right - Definitely not banned, but if the codes are region-locked it just won't accept them.
