Did you count the frames?

No, I can tell though just from being 36 years old, doing 3D animation, video and playing so many games, I know what FPS they are at in the current video.
I can see it starting to lag on the ps3. That means they just hit the 30 fps boundary.
That is before they are even in any kind of large fight, with lots of effects going on.
When that happens I guarantee a massive drop in fps.
From 30 fps, every single fps you loose, makes it look unplayable.

I wouldn't worry to much about it.
They will almost certainly optimize the game better for ps3 or change some settings before release.
I can't imagine they wouldn't.

If there is no (Super maxed) video footage of this game at beta, I am taking some.
Raw footage files with maxed settings and uploading them.
Can't believe we don't have 1080p footage or any uncompressed video of the game yet.
It makes all the difference in the world of what we see, in terms of quality.

Might take hours to upload but again, it is sooo worth it.

PS: I really do not want to fight more tiny crabs, who get stronger and stronger in different zones again. I always hated that in FFXI.
Same can be said for any mob who did that.

If you think there is no lag in that video you are deluding yourself.
Anything under 30 fps shows visible lag.
To me that is unplayable and it also exacerbates issues, people have with motion sickness.

To me that is unplayable and it also exacerbates issues, people have with motion sickness.

What is unplayable "to you" is irrelevant. Unplayable is an objective, absolute term that doesn't mean what you think it means.

I'm not expecting a big change to occur at this stage to be honest. Similar games like dragon's dogma have the same fps issues that we saw in the video. And honestly dragon's dogma didn't look as good as ARR and it also doesn't have a world filled with thousands of players wandering the same map. Basically, compared to the pc version it looks less smooth. But compared to other similar PS3 titles, it looks WAY better.

Unfortunately those are the limits of a PS3 version.

Come back to me when you have a PS3 version running on a PS3 and you can actually measure the frame rate. Anyone that dabbles with youtube knows that it's not a valid representation of framerate, especially when variable framerates are involved, Mr. Engineer
