"Thy life is a river to bear rapture and sorrow
To listen to suffer to entrust until tomorrow
In one fleeting moment, from the land doth life flow
Yet in one fleeting moment for the new leaf doth grow"
You should stick to lore xDI'm down with that. Here's every single thing I said in this thread on the subject of Scholar. See if you can find the spot where I said anything other than, "I find it very unlikely, but I don't think unlikely is enough to count it out. For each time someone states why they think it's probably going to happen, I'll state why that's not very convincing to me, and then we'll see!"
I said I wouldn't take it personally if I was wrong, and I don't. I called it wrong - the mofo pulled off the unlikely! In half the time it took them to make 1.0, they built a game twice as good with twice as much in it and added entirely new classes. That's amazing.
So... am I missing something that justifies "let's make fun of him for not thinking it was likely even though he was never a jackass to anyone about how he's obviously right and they're a fool for not seeing it?"
I think the most forceful thing I've said was that if I was wrong I should probably just stick to commenting on lore from now on seeing as that's what my strong suit is.
Summoner = Nuke
Scholar = Buffer/Debuffer
Who knows?![]()
Oh.., I'm tired. I got the strength to say 4 words upon the completion of this sentence.
I told you so!
No malice, for the most part the naysayers in this thread were well articulated and no where near malicious.

And we should try to keep it that way by not being poor winners, no?
So between now and E3, the debate can swap over to what the Japanese players have already been talking about while we fussed over whether or not it was really a new job.
ACN -> SCH or brand new class? ...Or something else?
On one hand, the book connection is a strong case for it being Summoner's partner job. While we do already have both existing mages wielding what are, in practice, staves and wands, using a book as a weapon is a little more unique. I'm mentioning this because I'm sure it's the point most of you are going to be making.
This makes a lot of issues, though. Will it also unlock at level 30 alongside Summoner? Can I just grind on one and get experience on both? How will they make Scholar more than just a Summoner without primals, with only a small handful of job abilities? And how will they justify Scholar's base class getting access to a summon?
My money and prayers are still on either a new class, or an advanced job which will require other jobs to unlock, and will start at level 1 without a related class.
Thoughts, community?

Answered your questions that are already answered.This makes a lot of issues, though. Will it also unlock at level 30 alongside Summoner? You quest to unlock jobs
Can I just grind on one and get experience on both?Experience is not tied to Jobs, it is tied to the base class so if you have a 50 Arcanist before you unlock scholar, when you unlock it you are a 50 scholar. Job abilities are quested
I think she was trying to be nice by assuming none of us are "poor winners".
That may be, but then SMN is without a class. Unless perhaps ACN is the class for 2 jobs, which would be a new thing. Such speculation is what her post was mostly about.
My told ya so was good natured ribbing but I appreciate the sentiment by both parties.
I think they will both be Arcanist based. I may be wrong but Yoshi has talked about multiple jobs per class. Giving examples such as GLA > DRK in addition to GLA > PLD.
Q30: Could you show us an in-game footage of the Armoury Chest?
A30: In ARR, you have the ability to change into different classes/jobs on a single character. Due to this, players often have to carry a large amount of equipment in their inventory. During the previous Beta Tests, we received numerous feedback about the usability of the gear set. We discussed the matter internally and we believe this is the best way to satisfy everyone’s needs.
All equipment will be stored in your Armoury Chest and you will be able to store up to 25 items per slot. In addition, you will be able to equip and repair by clicking on the item. As for the gear set, you will be able to select any item within the Armoury Chest and therefore will no longer need to prepare multiple items of the same type if the item is equipped by multiple classes/jobs.
It does not say here but they also said that there are 8 slots for the Soul Crystals (jobs)
so scholar won't have a soul crystal? or both Scholar and Arcanist becomes summoner?
