FFXIV Crashes before I can play after logging in to the patcher

Just like the title says. I've been trying to get this to work for almost a week now. I won't be able to post accurate PC specs because I'm at work but here's what I got so far. I have:

Error message: UE. It points to msvcrt.dll and lists detailed error information.

When: Every time I try to play. It will happen when I click "Play" on the patcher. I've even made it as far as the game launching but when I clicked Start once the game loaded it crashed again.

I've tried: To re-install (multiple times), replace the .dll listed, changing video settings. Changing the settings then running it in full screen actually got me to launch the game to the start screen then it crashed again.

    My specs: Laptop
Windows 7 home premium (sucks) 64-bit
    Dual core w/ hyperthreading
    4 gigs of ram
    700 gig HDD
~300 MB in the onboard video

That's all I have for now. Once I get home for lunch I'll update this post with more accurate information. Does anybody have any idea as to what to do? I'm at a total loss. What I'm doing today is installing XP Pro in a VM and see if that changes anything. After that I'll try installing on different machines and seeing what happens. Any help here is really appreciated, I'm really looking forward to playing this game..

PS: SE has even locked my account for whatever reason. Aparently trying to install and run the game is "suspicious activity".

    UE.
    Huh? No abbreviations, please ^.-

msvcrt.dll is related to microsoft visual C++

Please post your entire PC specs when you can. You can open up FFXIV config, hit the System button, then copy to clipboard.

You say that you have onboard video.. and that tells me that most likely your laptop isn't capable of running the game in it's current state. There are very few onboard video cards that are powerful enough to run FFXIV.

    There's nothing wrong with windows 7 64-bit.

Sorry haha it's an acronym I use a lot at work and it's something I'm starting to say frequently without realizing it. It's an unhandled exception. Here's what I got, the config wouldn't let me copy from it so I just wrote what's relevant here.

    Win 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit
    Intel I3 M 380 @2.53GHz
    Physical Memory 3884.547 MB
    Virtual 2047.875 MB
    Page File 7767.293 MB
Storage: 574.684 GB Free Space 353.505 GB
    DirectX 11
    Intel(R) HD Graphics
    Intel(R) HD Graphics (core i3)
    Video Memory: 64MB
    Shared video memory 1632 MB

Wow, I didn't notice I have an Intel video card.. that's something I should've paid attention to.. D:
Also, what's missing here is: Audio details and input details. Graphics drivers are up to date as far as I'm aware.
I don't think I'm missing anything here, if so please let me know.

In the FFXIV config system information menu there is a "Copy to clipboard" button at the bottom, but nevermind that..

With the information you've given us, it's clear that your graphics card doesn't meet the minimum system requirements to play FFXIV. You likely don't have a whole lot of options for upgrading your laptop.. so you're going to have to buy a new PC if you want to play before the Ps3 release.

I personally cannot recommend buying a new computer specifically for FFXIV unless you have another use for it. You may be struck with major buyer's remorse.

That's putting it lightly. I completely overlooked the video card when I bought the thing. <_< That explains a lot of things.
That's alright tho because I can install it on a different computer that should more than run it. My only left over question is why is the error message pointing to the C++ .dll? That doesn't make any sense to me. With that aside, thanks for the help Grit.

The C++ stuff is tied into your graphics card drivers in some way. I'm no expert on that.. but the graphics card is surely your problem, so I wouldn't worry about anything else for now.
