For what it's worth Hamlet was pretty revolutionary even if it had the most godawful execution.
"Large-scale conflict content where crafter/gatherer has an active role" is definitely not a thing I think I ever saw in an MMO (and perhaps it might have existed in EVE? I don't know much about that arcane game).

"A much improved Hamlet" would be great

You know, it might be heresy, but I actually enjoyed Hamlet. My friend and I, both gatherers, were like a well-oiled machine. We could keep the debuffs on and then some, no sweat.

Not that it was terribly difficult, but I got my Hamlet Fisher's Hat, so in the end I guess I "won."

I just remember back to when I was waiting for 1.0 to launch. When I first heard the news that DoL/H were to be REAL classes just like DoW/M, I was so so so so super excited! I pictured so much potential in the variety of missions, equipment, leveling, activities just like their fighting counterparts.

I actually created my very first character to be a Miner when I first logged in!!!

WOW was I disappointed.

Crafting and Gathering was basically the same as it ever was playstyle-wise. And as time went on it seemed to just get worse - every patch I waited for new ground-breaking content but after a while it was obvious that SE (Yoshi included) gave up on whatever vision there was for making DoH/M into classes - if there ever was any.

Looks like more of the same for 2.0.....

It's a real shame. I found myself very amused more with the crafting in 1.0 than anything else. I was sorta hoping for some wild and crazy things.
