    Help on ingame items

Ok i just started playing this game a few days ago.Problem is i created my toon and wanted to see the game.Later i decided to get my in game item's so i went and input the code to find out i had to do this before making my character. So my question is the Onion Helm and the item you get for Registering worth me deleteing my toon to get?

For the record i think its crazy they don't have a way to get in game items after creation.

    Not really imo.
And well normally id flame you for using the word "Toon" but since i feel nice today...
id give you an advise not to use that word as many current players ...dont like that.
    It's a character not a toon.

    Jeebus, Laughlyn. What a jerk.

Samson, use whatever lingo you want. Call it a toon, a character, a person, a Roegdalyn, a taco. Who cares? Some people are going to look for any excuse to be a jerk. Like Laughlyn, apparently. But I wouldn't worry too much about pleasing those people.

As for the Onion Helm, what it does is, when you die, it reduces the amount of time that your toon is affected by weakness. Instead of being "weak" for 3 minutes, you're only weak for a minute and a half. That scales down as you level up, and it disappears entirely at level 10.

Right now, you level up to 10 really quickly. You'll probably have your first job at level 10 by the end of your first set of leves. So, other than the defense benefits it offers, you probably won't be wearing the onion helm for too terribly long.

So I'd say it depends on a) how much time you've already spent in the game; and b) how often you die currently. I did the same thing as you, starting my character and then trying to get the onion helm. I decided it wasn't worth it for me to start over. But it's totally up to you.

Welcome to the game! Hope you enjoy your time in Eorzea!

If you want the items for the novelty factor, get them now (before you've done a whole bunch of stuff and grown attached etc).

Apart from novelty...they were designed back when R1-10 took a few hours, so they were very useful.

R1-10 now takes about 45-60 minutes, so apart from the first hour(ish) you spend on any class, an onion helm is not an item that's gonna set you apart from other players.
