So corrupted humans turn into squid-faces if they start worshiping Odin? I'm more inclined to believe that the Primals don't really need a worshiping tribe, only a supply of crystals/aether.

Odin in XI grants demonic powers to his servants. Mindflayers are demons and as we both know, XI they were blue mages/the races turned demons. So it's not as far fetched as you or i might think.

FFXI Odin's power doesn't necessarily transform people, though. And the Mindflayers were BLU who lost control of their inner-monster. They're infused with monster blood, after all. So FFXIV would have to release BLU before any of us become flayers.

Edit: When I say "humans" I include all of the races. Hyur are only the less-bizarre division of humans.
