FFXIV ARR really have noting new to bring to the table. FATE is from other game rift also have it. CS/Story telling FFXI does it so does many other games. PVP every mmo on the market have it. House many other mmo does this and many F2P go crazy with the housing system.

So at the end there noting to bring back new player base it's just copy/paste from other games put in ff setting like i said. Don't get me wrong FFXIV ARR look great i love how it turning out but sadly there noting to bring new players and make them stay in FFXIV without them leaving soon as there game get a new patch.

Let's hope most of us are wrong and yoshi-p does have new stuff they just not telling us but that just wishful thinking.

I'm sorry, but what other traits are you expecting, live rabbits to pop out of the screen? They set out to create an MMORPG, and didn't they already said a Gold Saucer like area is in the works? not to mention PvP. What is it you want SE to add that would fit the MMORPG they intend to make?

I often wonder if people who think like that also are disappointed in Chevrolet when they reveal the new Camero because it has 4 wheels.

I used the same exact analogy in a thread somewhere else. Saying something like, "Ah man, Ford made the same 4 wheel car as Chevy! D:" Or something like that lol. I think on a special forum. >.> *coughcough* directed at all the people starting threads about it failing because it's the same as other mmos. There is a form they must fit here. MMOs all share many characteristics. Much like smart phones, cars, computers, etc. Microsoft released Surface. Yes, it is to combat Apple's iPad. It is not a clone. It is a competitor with features that make it a tablet computer. You can't change it too much. You can't have a built in keyboard, for example. That would make it a laptop. You can't take the MMO features out of an MMO. It wouldn't be an MMO anymore. All MMOs share these key features and characteristics. That's what makes them....MMOS.

Finally, it's been said! I mean, it's gotten to the point where people would call an mmo a WoW clone or copy paste if you use a keyboard and mouse to play it.

It's not whether or not it brings anything super-dee-duper new or unseen by anyone, it's whether or not the game is successful in what it does bring. People are excited for the housing features, the FATEs, the summoning class, and everything else ARR is bringing to the game. And rightly so, from what I've seen, it looks great. All of these nice features coupled with the fact that it's a Final Fantasy game, and imo you've got a winning combination. The "nothing new" finger pointing is so, well, pointless. lol

Don't forget that these same people think that housing is pointless and unneeded. So, on top of calling it copy paste, they cast down the new things as stupid or dumb.
