Completely disagree with OP. ANYONE should be able to buy any kind of house regardless if they are into crafting/gathering or hardcore endgame. The easiest way to give everyone the same chance is to use gil.

god I had 88 mil in 1.0 and I worked really hard for that, how da fudge did people get 1 bil

I have only 2 million in 1.0, meaning i'll have 200k in 2.0. Can't care the less. I'll work for what I want even if it costs much more than that. I sure won't ask SE to waive the fee because I'm lazy.
'cause we all know the "omg gilsellers!" talk is just an excuse.

Well.... I played from the beginning and the most Gil I ever made was 6 Million. SO I will start with 600k into ARR.
I really hope Houses are not to expensive and I really wish I could get an another Server without broken Economy.... since I will have a hard time on old Servers with so many people having tons of Gil

ya sadly the only way to do that is start over on the new worlds they making.Well.... I played from the beginning and the most Gil I ever made was 6 Million. SO I will start with 600k into ARR.

People keep painting this picture of the old servers being filled with crazy-wealthy people. It's just not quite like that. Are their crazy wealthy people? Sure, but there is also an abundance of items in the markets that compensate greed-grabbing.
Supply vs. Demand
1.0 player servers: Are more saturated but they also have a high amount of suppliers/ and a modest amount of demand (people craft or have friends who can craft a lot of stuff for them). This keeps prices lower because you have competition in sales.
New Player Servers: Low Supply/High Demand Very few people will be able to craft/gather/farm. Due to this, people will be selling all of this at inflated prices. Almost everything will be more expensive or impossible to find for sale all together.
On the housing front:
I'm almost positive that in order to unlock housing, you'll yes, need the gils to buy it, but you'll also need to be a certain level and/or done a quest or something. By making sure we need to be a certain level/clear a quest, it helps keep RMT's out of the housing market.

The mods will likely monitor large transfers of gil in short periods of time.
Anyway i wont beleive about all this treath info until ARR is release or that Yoshi-P put an official Post on how Housing will work , an not player saying thing or posting thing when i can't find any post of Yoshi-P talking of it.

reason i wont find the link for it because it would take me forever he said this a while back in a interview i believe. But ya house work on demand. Also from the other post you said you don't have to buy a house from a player. There always be lot for sell by NPC when the demand is high more instances would be made.
From the new information we got in this live letter pretty they be a limit how many Big house can be in each instance. Which tell us you can have lot's of small homes in one zone and then other zone with maybe 2-4 big homes 6 small and a few med homes.
but really don't worry about it just don't go crazy and buy a house soon you get access that just be a waste of money. I be waiting to the npc sell them cheap because there no reason to have a house so early on when all the fun things like taking care a chocobo or growing stuff wont be added to month later in a patch.

There is a simple answer to this problem: start fresh and enjoy the game on a new server, while still carrying your veteran experience.
