PS3 limitations?

I don't really get what problem XI had on the PS2. It was a PS2 game ported to the PC xD

The problem was the game has more or less grown to thep oint where it needs and uses every square inch of what the PS2 can give it- making it more difficult for them to continue expanding and updating the game despite the playerbase it still has.
