Purple Reign interested in finding new potential members~

I started playing FFXI in 2004, and started Purple Reign with a bunch of my friends in 2005. I know a lot of groups have problems with the leadership playing favorites and only giving loot to those they personally like, or other kinds of drama, sketchy behavior, etc. PR was made specifically with the intent of avoiding all of that as much as possible. I've always been much more interested in advancing the group as a whole, rather than rewarding a select few and screwing everyone else over. My goal was always to make an LS composed of a relatively skilled, tightly-knit group of people who had fun raiding together. Even though FFXI is in severe decline (imo), PR as an LS still exists in that game (though I gave over the leadership to someone else years ago).

I've been playing FFXIV since the beginning, and now with the ARR relaunch of the game, I'm a little more confident that new folks who join won't just quit the game randomly because the game is just bad (which is how I felt in 1.x). So! I'd like to invite anyone who is potentially interested in hearing more to visit my forum site, which has a lot more information about us, and also gives you a chance to chat and ask whatever you want about us.

I plan on making PR an FC in ARR, but I also plan on making a more inclusive LS, Another Story, which is open to folks who want to hang out/raid with us but are already affiliated with another FC (or plan to be). We played on Sargatanas in 1.x, but even if we had the World List for ARR in front of us right now, we couldn't tell you which world we'd pick. We probably won't decide until shortly before/after Phase 4 of the Beta starts, depending on how the world selection process works for returning players. That said, our opinions could certainly be swayed if enough cool people want to join and have their hearts set (mostly) on a particular world (as long as it's an NA datacenter).

I'll revise the preceding as details change (such as what world we'll be on for the release version, etc.).

Yes. Also, JERK. I sent you a bunch of tells in-game asking if you were the Aalryn from FFXI and you like, ignored me. I figured either you hated me, or your afk timing was superb. :/

I do remember Hoot and also Godfather, who I saw was also in your LS now (He used to ask me a -lot- of ranger questions when he was leveling).

I went through my collection of ~300 screenshots that I have from FFXI and I must say that a few of you are in about 95% of them from the AI days. I've got a few of our first attempts at Tiamat and Dynamis lord as well... you know those fights that lasted all of eighteen seconds before we all died... Christ those were fun times. Spending every single afternoon camping for Aspidochelone.. Every. Single. Afternoon. for like six months straight. Sky fights and Dynamis when they were new. Going through CoP missions. I swear my rose color glasses are almost opaque.

I didn't realize that you were actually the leader of PR. IIRC, PR was around at the same time (if not a little before) AI. I remember the first time I saw the shell was when Pinkk joined.

Haha. PR actually started after AI. AI was my first (real) LS. I did a lot of stuff with them, and by extension OS (lol Redemption - AI + OS Dynamis and other hilarity). I do remember those early Tiamat wipes and whatnot. More than that, I remember crushing Tiamat for the first time and getting drop on Herald's Gaiters (!).

I made PR after I left AI. Pretty much all the core members used to be in Kukai Foundation, the LS Pinkk made. I had hung out with them quite a bit, but they were a social LS at the time and so I was doing endgame stuff with AI.

If you got some funny screen shots, you should swing by my forums and post them. We have a thread for FFXI pictures. Our LS chat is kind of horrifying sometimes, and probably those SSes will give people an odd impression of us, since those are "highlights" and not necessarily how everyone talks on a daily basis. >.>

Also that way I can PM the hell out of you. :P
