This was my suggestion to another on the forums:

Few things you could check out:
    1. Power settings: under control panel, click "power options" make sure you are on "full performance". You can also take the power settings a bit further and tweak them more if you like, but checking the box should be all you need. I suggest this because newer computers and newer hardware have better power saving features than they used to. When the power options are set to anything other than "full performance", you aren't really running your hardware to its potential, its going to be limited to save power, thus giving you less performance...whether it be a few CPU multipliers, PCI-E limitations...just enabling this, in itself can make a HUGE difference.

    2. VIDEO card drivers: This is a big one. You have a newer card, and for that reason not everything you throw at your card will work to its full potential. It takes a while for drivers to catch up, and smooth things out on the performance side. That being said, always update your video card drivers to the very latest version to ensure maximum performance. The most recent version, as today is 314.07 and 314.21 for the latest beta...I would suggest the beta driver, as most of the fixes in these releases apply to the most recent series of gpus. http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

    3. Direct X: Make sure your Direct X is up to date. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...ils.aspx?id=35

I agree with the power option suggestion, it should make your bench score a little higher.

As long as you have your C States enabled on your bios, your cpu will clock down when it's idle or passively being used and stay at full speed when it's actively being used.

I figured it out I was playing in fullscreen mode. I was always under the assumption that games ran better in fullscreen mode as opposed to fullscreen(windowed) mode? Anyways I switched it over to fullscreen windowed and now getting close to 7k results ^.^
