Indeed, I won't use this if I can't use my physical token alongside it. I've more chance of losing my phone than my token plus in 99% of cases the physical token will be more convenient. Pushing a button on my desk is easier than grabbing phone, unlocking it, opening up app and generating a code.

If SE has any sense they'll allow you ways to de/reactivate your code if your phone is lost. And tie it to your current security token.

The amount of energy needed for those few seconds for a couple of finger swipes is quite the workout!

It IS possible. I registered and on my account info, there is an "emergency code". In SE's own words they say to use this code if your phone is lost/stolen/destroyed/etc.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that they do in fact have sense, emergency code is going to save them a lot of headache
