    I think it work with any other animal like the lion. He there making sure no other males would take his girls from him lol. Then he just breed with every girl under him then i'm guessing to there a strong enough male born in his family. To fight him for the rights of breeding he can just leave and try on his own or just stay.

    So it's somewhat like how it works with most animal like the lion.
