    I actually never saw Dallas, but I assume you mean a storyline in any series that has huge twists and turns and just ends up to be a dream? IE: Lois killing Stewie

    Yeah. Dallas killed off a major character and it went over so badly that they retconned it by having someone wake up and having it all be a dream. It's been spoofed many, many times - including on Family Guy, which actually edited the exact live-action scene and played it after an episode.

    Nowadays I think there are more people who know of the concept of making fun of that fact about Dallas than have actually seen an episode of Dallas.
