Conjecture Question..Any evidence to support/reject this theory concerning Echo?

Is there any evidence out there that would support the theory that our lives in 1.0, everything we experienced at that time was just an Echo? And when we were sent to ARR, that was the end of the very long and elaborate echo? In essence, we were being sent "back to the future"?

Any info you can give me either way (which I know there might not be much if any) is appreciated.

Also, if this is a ridiculous question, I ask that you just let it drop to the bottom of the forum.. I hate being flamed lol.

There's no evidence that I know of, but I guess there may be grounds for speculation?

If your theory is true I will rage. What ever happened to good old fashioned time travel and dimensional shenanigans?

I didn't think they were thrown forward in time really, just hidden away until the calamity passed. Though I suppose there's no functional difference really.

We didn't age and didn't perceive time, so as far as we're concerned it doesn't matter. From a physics standpoint, and when determining just how powerful Louisoix is, the two are very different. Did Louisoix really tear open a portal in time/space to deliver us safely 5 years in the future? Or could he have sent us to a zero-dimension temporarily? Given there's such thing as the Void, the latter seems a little more plausible, although I shudder to think that we were saved by the very concept that threatened Bartz's world in FFV.

Every since I realized that the first four main story arc quests took place almost entirely in echoes, all options are on the table.

Of course, there's all sorts of reasons why it's probably not the case that 1.X was all an echo, but I think the strongest is just my high level of faith that no one on the team that crafted this game's lore, which is high up there on my list of FF favorites, got up in the middle of a lore-building workshop and said,

"I know a good twist for the Echo. Has everyone here seen Dallas?"

Yeah. Dallas killed off a major character and it went over so badly that they retconned it by having someone wake up and having it all be a dream. It's been spoofed many, many times - including on Family Guy, which actually edited the exact live-action scene and played it after an episode.

Nowadays I think there are more people who know of the concept of making fun of that fact about Dallas than have actually seen an episode of Dallas.

As a committed (in more ways than one) Echo paranoiac, I fully stand by the OP's sentiment.

The only thing I'm really worrying about now is that *I'm* just an Echo of my FFXIV character, but I guess that's gonna be the big reveal at the end of the ARR storyline in a decade's time.

I'm not confident that the Echo will even be in 2.0 at least the same way.. I'm quite apprehensive on how they handle the story conversion.. he said ARR story will be related to FF1 story.. I hope they don't scrap the 1.0 story.. It was very cool in a lot of way.
