points of interest. Next to shar is a river which what the adventurers were fighting in (most likely). Ishgard is to the east of shar. The night of day was pretty noon after noon based on the lighting. The guy was knocked out and the gun ship thing he was in traveled and he woke up as the sun was setting. By the time the ship crashed wuth the dragon it looks like its night time. We know the ship itself is located in Mor Dhona.

Also take into consideration the direction of the dragon and ship came from. If there was a war going on aroud them, why would they bwe fighting a plant beast?

From these points of interest it looks like the areas around ishgard and dragon war spilled over to shar. Since its pretty close to Ish.
That's interesting. The highest mountains in Eorzea appear to be in that area too and when you see those waterfalls in a full CG image or video you can see huge mountains in the background. It's also interesting to note that on the map there's a dragon above Shar which suggests something is/was happening over there.

Wow very cool find, I am going to have to check out Camp Brittlebark if I can make it there. I agree with you. It sounds like the Empire attacked them.

i dont think that the dragon in mor dhona is bahamut. in a recent interview, yoshida said he was going to implement bahamuts and other summons differently in ffxiv so that pretty much means that we haven't seen bahamut yet. it might have been a very powerful dragon, maybe bahamut's mistress or something lol, something like this will make him mad and he will side by you to help destroy garlean or something, would make a nice sidequest

    Spoilers:

I'm willing to bet it's a typo and that the guard is actually referring to Ala Mhigo: the storyline makes no mention of Sharlayan being in such a sorry state. In fact, the guys from Sharlayan that you meet during the missions don't act like their city is being invaded at all. They're just trying to see whether our cities would go to war against the Empire or not to avoid being destroyed. They definitely don't seem like it's already happened (correct me if I'm wrong).

Honestly I'm having a hard time caring about what the guard NPCs say, considering there's an NPC in Camp Bentbranch that welcomes you to Camp Black Brush...

Such a big map... Now if only we can explore it all. ;D

Wait... That's not how I usually post...

I am in favor of more cities.

I am in favor of more places to explore.

I am strongly against this NPC!!!
