I want to know where that other area is in the intro with the waterfalls. You see it in the graphic at the top of the forum too. Is it the Silvertear Falls near Mor Dhona? Would be a shame if they don't let players get to it in-game.

some stuff to consider.... its bight out looks around noon time when he fights with the group. He wakes up and its sunset/night time when at place where the dragon (bahamut) is around that ship. And he was in flight the ship wasn't attack anything after he somehow got aboard.

So it was a 5 or 6 hour flight without any snacks or in flight movie. the Garleans run one low budget airline.....some stuff to consider.... its bight out looks around noon time when he fights with the group. It's pretty much accepted that it's Bahamut, given his status as "God of the Eidolons" in the rest of the FFverse and that the rest of the primal deities that are worshiped by the various beast tribes were brought into the Eorzean plane of existence through his "death".
As for summons working differently than they did in previous games, yeah they do work differently. They hate and want to kill us all. Play through the game story.
walking through coerthas, i found a area in the northern part near The Lance. It seemed to be a dragon-nest, according to the nearby NPC.
Could be related to Dravonia.
But question;
If the Garleans destroyed Ala Mhigo, and continued their campaign west, why did they skip Grid, and go straight for Ishgard?
I think I know the area you're referring to. I've tried going to areas on the Coerthas map in particular that look like they might zone (based on how they appear on the map) to another area, if nothing else just to get the message saying "You can't enter that area" just to confirm my suspicion. If i'm not mistaken though, there was a horde of redwing keds flying around up there and I couldn't make it past them to see, lol believe me I tried a lotwalking through coerthas, i found a area in the northern part near The Lance. Technically they didn't skip it, they patrol the areas in the black shroud. I'm thinking it has something to do with the forest attacking people, maybe the forest wont let them get near grid?walking through coerthas, i found a area in the northern part near The Lance. Maybe the Garleans hate the black shrouds layout as much as the players and as Gridania's a ghost town anyway they skipped it.
the tech could be from ishgard. Look at the map You got ishgard then dravonia, then shar, and mor dhona is south east of ishgard. The garlean empire only attacked ala. Iys all in the front of the booklet you get with the game. There was 6 city stats. we currently use 3. Ala was attacled. Shar is slowly dieing/ destroyed prob with the fight over dragons. and ishard is curently on radio silance. If the machinbes were from the garlean empire why didn't they attack the adventures since the empire is not on friendly terms with the 6 city states. Something happen in ala after it was atttacked to have them stop the assult. Mostly because the empire does have some heafty army since ala was the largest city state.
For the record my info is mixture of reading the front inside of the booklet and watching the intro cs of ffxiv, as well as looking at the map.
points of interest. Next to shar is a river which what the adventurers were fighting in (most likely). Ishgard is to the east of shar. The night of day was pretty noon after noon based on the lighting. The guy was knocked out and the gun ship thing he was in traveled and he woke up as the sun was setting. By the time the ship crashed wuth the dragon it looks like its night time. We know the ship itself is located in Mor Dhona.
Also take into consideration the direction of the dragon and ship came from. If there was a war going on aroud them, why would they bwe fighting a plant beast?
From these points of interest it looks like the areas around ishgard and dragon war spilled over to shar. Since its pretty close to Ish.
