I've never quite understood that argument.... being able to change it is a "one-time deal", and "super scary" to offer to players because of possible mistakes, but somehow that logic doesn't apply to only getting the very first naming at initial character creation with no ability to make a change at all, ever, even once??? Lamest damn excuse I've heard in a loooooooong time.

That said I'm 99% certain they'll let us do it. With how many people want it, the lore-friendly naming conventions being released, and awkward names resulting from gender changes (which it's confirmed we'll be able to do), it's nearly inconceivable they wouldn't offer it to us.

So it might wipe your friendlist or linkshell membership... just rebuild it. I thought linkshells were being wiped anyways, and friendlists ought to be wiped for everyone so we can have confidence that every friend request had to be accepted instead of the 1.0 stalker-mode flists.

The only argument against it I've heard worth any salt is it allows players with a bad reputation a new lease on life. Which to me is a good thing. Maybe they've turned over a new leaf and revised their ways. And if they haven't reformed and still ninja loot like it's going out of style, they're gonna rebuild that reputation fast under the new name.
