It looks like SE and Yoshi-P have a disagreement on what era ARR resides, lol.

2012 will be remembered as the year the Seventh Umbral Era storyline drew to a close, and the curtains came down on the original version of the game. But every end marks a new beginning, and 2013 will see Eorzea begin a new chapter with the arrival of the Seventh Astral Era.

Nice catch here. I loooked into the German Version on finalfantasyxiv.com and there it is the same.
"What is Eorzea" say - Umbral (Shadow) Era starts.
and on "Eorzea" it say - Astral (Light) Era starts.


On the English Version "What is Final Fantasy XIV?" it is the same as offical SE website.

And by following "Learn more" it say under Eorzea this:

But in the seventh verse of the Divine Chronicles, Mezaya Thousand Eyes prophesized a less fortunate fate. The "senary sun," or Sixth Astral Era, would indeed end, and the "septenary moon," or Seventh Umbral Era, would cast its shadow upon the land.

Maybe in ARR we start at the end of Umbral Era and in the main Story we go towards Astral Era?

Yoshida explains ARR begins after 7th umbral, but the SE site shows it as before lol.

I agree. It sounds like it still has the description for 1.x and needs to be updated to the full current situation for ARR (which is indeed moving into the 7th Astral Era).

Unless it was a typo on either side, I'd go with what Yoshi-P says over the rest of SE. XD
